There will also be a trend towards minimalist designs and more open floor plans. So if you're thinking of remodelling your home in the near future, keep these trends in mind!
In recent years, there has been a shift towards minimalist interior design. Minimalism is all about simplicity and functionality, and it has become increasingly popular due to its clean aesthetic and pared-down aesthetic. While this style is perfect for some homes, others may find that it doesn't quite fit their personality or lifestyle. If that's the case, don't worry – there are plenty of other interior design trends to choose from! Here are eleven of the most popular interior design trends for 2023.
1. Earthy colours
Natural materials and earthy colours will be a popular choice for interior design this year. Think shades of green, brown, grey and white that evoke the calming feel of nature.
2. Warm wood tones
Wood is a classic interior design material, and for 2023 it will be all about warm wood tones like walnut and oak. Not only do these materials look beautiful, but they also create a cosy atmosphere in any room.
3. Blending indoors and outdoors
One of the biggest trends this year is blurring the lines between indoors and out. This could mean using natural materials for your interior walls or adding large windows that let in lots of natural light. You can even build an outdoor living space to bring a bit of nature into your home!
4. Statement furniture pieces
As interior design becomes more functional, statement furniture pieces are becoming increasingly popular. Think bold chairs, sofas and tables that add a touch of personality to your interior.
5. Open floor plans
Open floor plans are a great way to make the most of your interior space, as they help create an airy and inviting atmosphere. This is particularly important if you entertain often, as it allows people to move freely throughout the room without feeling cramped.
6. Textures
Adding texture to interior design is an easy way to create visual interest without adding clutter or colour. Wallpapers, tapestries, rugs and cushions can all be used to add texture to interior design.
7. Natural materials
Natural materials such as wood, stone and ceramics are becoming increasingly popular in interior design. They lend warmth and texture to any interior space.
8. Plants
Adding plants to interior design is an easy way to bring the outdoors inside and create a more inviting atmosphere. Not only do plants bring life and colour into interior spaces, but they also have air-purifying properties that can help remove toxins from the air, making it safer to breathe.
9. Smart home technology
Smart home technology has been growing in popularity for years, and it will continue to be an important trend in interior design this year as well. From automated lighting systems to connected home appliances, smart technology can make life easier and more convenient.

FORGET TRENDS is really the right idea now and I have been following my strong intuition in my remodeled/redecorated home. Using my fav pinks, teals and whites my home is so ME…French/English Cottage GLAM Coastal look , maximalist approach turned out elegant, whimsical, romantic ….and it just makes me so happy. Handcrafted teal mermaid tail backsplash with my mottled brown granite, wraparound ceiling to floor cabinets, blush stools/chairs and oversized floral teal sofa in kitchen dining, antiques with traditional, kidder furniture. I get raves and entertain a lot more.
Thanks for the wonderful predictions, it’s great focus for the year ahead.
