As much as I'd love to be sprawled out on a beach, exploring a beautiful old town or clinking cocktail glasses in a faraway city, I won't be jetting off on holiday this year. But, that doesn't mean I can't introduce those feel-good holiday vibes to my home, does it? Here are a few of my favourite home accessories that are bringing a little bit of the summer holidays to my home - and they're almost as good as finding a spot for that beach towel...
Nautical Stripes
Is there anything more reminiscent of seaside holidays than a good nautical stripe?! Brighten up your living room with nautical cushions and a lightweight throw, or brighten up your bedroom with a new set of bedding.
Tropical Prints
It doesn't get much more cheerful than a tropical print, and pineapples and palm leaves are about as tropical as it gets. It's a sure-fire way to cheer up a grey day in the UK this summer.
Bright Colours
Similarly, why not update your interior with some pops of colour? From brilliant bold reds to buttery warm yellows, it's easy to accessorise with colours that are reminiscent of your favourite holidays. I love the idea of an azure blue table cloth with white chairs to transport me to a Greek island, and a red gingham tablecloth with a single candle would have me dreaming of Italy - that's for sure.
Summery Scents
As well as slathering yourself in suncream, help your nose to do a little bit of travelling by infusing your home with delicious scents from around the world. Whether it's the White Company's Seychelles candle or a bottle of aloe vera bubble bath, you might almost feel as though you've travelled a long way from home.
Beautiful Tableware
One of the best things about going on holiday is indulging in some delicious food, isn't it? Well, bring a little of that home by treating yourself to some new tableware: a Moroccan tagine, a Japanese bowl or an Asian soup spoon will make dinner time feel a lot more adventurous.
So, how's that for some sort of staycation? You never know - it might be sunny enough to lounge in the garden for a bit too!
